Information for New Parents
Welcome and thank you for showing interest in our Infant and Child Studies Research Consortium at the University of Maryland. We are a group of child development researchers who investigate topics such as memory, social cognition, language acquisition, and speech development.
Parents often ask us, "What is the purpose of this research?" We've all read those parenting articles and apps about the typical growth and developmental stages of children. The reason we have that information is because of studies like the ones conducted by our research group. With the help of families like yours, we are able to improve our understanding of the developing child.
